Hello, simple question.... what are the chances that Qobuz Connect will be operational by the end of 2026?

You’d have to ask the folks at Qobuz. The folks at Sonos wouldn’t know their schedules, plans, or timelines. The only thing the folks at Sonos might know is if the folks at Qobuz have asked for the API, but even then, they’d be unlikely to say as much. Sonos certainly doesn’t have access to Qobuz’s software.

I disagree....according to my information, Qobuz has an API available....so it's a Sonos issue....but it's already been resolved....Sonos claims that the fault is with Qobuz and vice versa....and the customer waits and waits...

Sonos announcing this anytime soon? Realistically, somewhere around zero percent. When they actually have something to share, it tends to “mysteriously” show up via Chris Welch months in advance, so maybe keep an eye on his Bloomberg byline, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Their track record with Qobuz doesn’t exactly inspire confidence. The 2024 app update effectively broke Qobuz altogether. For months, you couldn’t even add the service. That’s the level of priority we’re dealing with. Not judging just calling it as I see it.

If Qobuz support really matters to you, it’s probably worth looking at other streamers that already support Qobuz Connect instead of waiting for Sonos to get around to it. Connect it to a Sonos line in and keep using your Sonos hardware.

Odd how many other services work with Sonos but it is a Sonos problem for Qbuzz's issue.

Who is claiming Sonos is at fault, what are they claiming the issue is and what has Qbuzz done to resolve it from their end?

I support almost all major competing brands of Qobuz Connect.....Arcam, Bluesound, Cambridge Audio, Eversolo, NAD, Marantz...Wiim...etc.... what can I add to that?

Nothing changes the fact that Sonos doesn’t have access to the Qobuz software. Sonos has written an API, it is up to Qobuz to fold it in the Qobuz software.

Let’s try this one more time, since it clearly isn’t sinking in: Sonos needs to request access to Qobuz Connect. This has already been posted, but apparently that wasn’t enough.

Of course, I wouldn’t expect it to be a priority as Sonos has spent the last two years setting a remarkably low bar for basic competence.

Interesting choice. It would likely take an inordinate amount of time for Sonos engineers to become familiar with Qobuz’s software. And they’d need to probably stop working on anything that benefits Sonos customers, other than the small percentage of folks who actually use Qobuz.

I’ve no particular objection to the request, but as a former producer working with code teams, I’m not sure it makes a ton of sense, from a corporate standpoint. On the other hand, I don’t have access to numbers from marketing.

It would make more sense if Qobuz were to pay for Sonos’ integration and use. Maybe they’ve offered, I don’t know.

Maybe this response from the Qobuz AI will provide an answer and stop all the speculative finger pointing. I’ll not suggest how you should interpret the response but it seems pretty straightforward to me. But then…what do I know 🤷

I got this answer...…

@Palco

To my interpretation the answer(s) you received confirms it’s not Sonos refusing to move forward on their side. Quite frankly IMO the onus to implement a Qobuz connect for/with Sonos doesn’t appear to be “Job 1” for either. So for now it’s AirPlay or within the Sonos App.
