problem reauthorising apple music on S1

Fed up with Apple Music not re-authorising after latest S1 update. Until, after wasting a lot of time  I realised that as one of my devices was more up to date I could just airplay from Apple and the link it to the older devices. I now discover that it is a better experience as quite frankly the interface to Apple Musoc from Sonos App was extremely truncated.

Hello @Simplymjt, welcome to the Sonos Community!

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble re-authorizing Apple Music within the S1 Sonos App.

Until, after wasting a lot of time  I realised that as one of my devices was more up to date I could just airplay from Apple and the link it to the older devices.

It’s nice that you were able to figure this workaround, but have you done any troubleshooting steps in order to resolve the issue?

First thing that comes to mind is completely removing Apple Music from the S1 Sonos App and then re-add it.

If the above doesn’t work, feel free to contact our Support Team for live troubleshooting. There might be a different issue underlying the inability to re-authorize Apple Music.

They have tools at their disposal to provide you with information and advice specific to your Sonos system and what it reports.

I hope this helps.

I have completely removed Apple Music from the S1 app. Now I crust can’t reinstall it. However the increased benefits of working directly from both Apple Music and Apple Classical make me wonder if it’s worth wasting more time on this. I suspect that it is caused by the recent S1 update. Fiddling with settings isn’t good for me.

What did Support say, when you called in as suggested?

I have the latest S1 App installed here and it seems to be working okay with Apple Music. See attached. So I’d perhaps give Sonos Support a call. There are other fixes that spring to my mind too, like signing out/in of media & purchases etc. in the Apple iOS settings. Also perhaps try a different controller device if you have one available to you.
