When will we be able to playback just s single episode of a podcast within pocket cast.
It adds the whole season every time .
When will Sonos also mark it as played the next time you enter the cast?
The above worked earlier in the good old app.

What I posted earlier is all I can find on the subject. If you feel that the app is not operating as is should, I recommend you get in touch with our technical support team directly.
The only thing I personally can do is mark this thread as a feature request for you, which I have now done. Please be aware, however, that it would likely be up to Pocket Casts themselves to implement this.

Welcome to the Sonos Community!
Our app is mainly designed for music playback - for improved Podcast functionality, we recommend that you use a service's own app, if you can. If you have an iOS device and an AirPlay-compatible Sonos speaker, that is probably the easiest option. Bluetooth is another method.
As far as I am aware, this was already our advice prior to the launch of the new Sonos app.
The behaviour that you see in the Pocket Cast section of the Sonos app is set by Pocket Casts themselves - they are the authors of the script that integrates with their service’s API (Application Programming Interface). Some third-party apps can initiate playback on Sonos players, but Pocket Casts is not one of them.

But it worked in the old app.
Both playback a single episode and mark it as played.
So this is another new feature missing in the new app.
Podcast from pocket cast are recognized as podcast and therefore not possible to play as a single episode.
Other podcast from other services are recognized as an album, and then you can playback a single episode.
Still none of them is marked af played at the end.
