Question

Playing my Music Library via Sonos

My Music Library is located on an external drive attached to my iMac. I have 2 Sonos speakers and the Sonos app on the iMac and on an iPad. I’ve tried everything to get the app to see the library but nothing works. Always “no longer available”. Can anyone help with a step by step idiots guide? or at least tell me if this scenario is just not possible. At the moment my speakers are just ornaments

Since you’ve “tried everything” it clearly cannot be done.

If, on the other hand, you’ve tried everything you can think of, perhaps help is available.

For example, have you tried the steps here? https://support.sonos.com/en-gb/article/add-your-music-library-to-sonos

Not sure about the “Path” portion of those instructions.  My path statement uses forward slashes.  You’re better off searching this community or the Web for a solution.

Interesting response from nik9669a … by everything, I include the steps within the link you suggested. I have searched the web and other forums, but there seems to be varying reports of problems achieving what I am striving for. I was hoping there might have been someone who had managed to find the solution

A call to support will usually help, they can see internal issues and errors we users can't see. They should be able to walk you through the setup process. Do take notes just in case you have to do it again.

Let us know how it goes.
