I raised a ticket more than a month ago and at first Sonos tried to fix the issue - now I am stuck with no apple music library, SONOS ignoring emails and then telling me engineers are working on it - in the meantime apple keeps updating and SONOS do nothing to fix this issue - surely I am not alone??? I cannot access my music library at all

When you are not telling us what (if any) fault codes you are getting or which devices you are using (PC, Mac, what Sonos devices) and what you have already done to try and solve this, it is a bit hard to help you.

I have an apple mac and the error is 913

Sonos tried the usual fixes which did not work and they now say it was an apple update issue that they are still trying to fix - sonos basically cannot add the music library anymore…..had happened a lot with updates but this is the worst ever

A permanent solution to this would be to purchase a NAS and transfer your music library to it.

I had my music library on a Mac a long time ago, but got fed up with updates breaking the connection so often. I got a NAS and have not had an issue since.

Oh thanks - I am not very IT savvy so I have no idea how to make a NAS work!!!

And yes _ all those fixes no longer work with the most recent update

I’d call back in and speak to someone different. As far as I’m aware, any 913 issues have been resolved, and you should be able to connect to Apple Music data without issue.

Edit: FWIW, I have no issues accessing locally stored Apple Music data…but then I also have it stored on an NAS, but it shouldn’t make a difference where it is stored, on your Mac or not.

NAS (Network Attached Storage) is a hard drive in its own box with a network connection. Any device on the network has access to files stored on the drive. I’ve always stored my music on a NAS drive. Computers come and go, crash, get fouled by updates, and the music continues. It’s also an easy place to keep backups. Keep in mind that a house fire could easily take the NAS too.

Any high rated single drive NAS will be good enough for Sonos S2 systems.

Amazon has a nice NAS selection with useful reviews and often links to the manufacturer for more information.

Thank you so much. I must admit I have had such a bad time with the Sonos apple interface that I would never buy again and I would never recommend!

I had the same experience with my Windows, they just do not play well with others.

I'm also tired of getting notices that my Apple hardware is too old and needs replaced to stay fully functional with Sonos.

For folks with a bit of computer skills, or kids/grandkids that do, a Raspberry Pi Zero makes an excellent NAS, either directly or by running Open Media Vault's server on it. Much cheaper than a full NAS and very reliable, mine has been working with no issues for years.
