I have gen 1 speakers running through S1 controller. Today I’m getting email messages and in-app messages to download “ the new Sonos app.” Anybody know if that app is replacing S1 or is it for S2?

It is more than likely referring to the S2 app. Just ignore the messages and continue using the S1 app/controller.
