New app- lost ability to pause, forward or manage current track

I made the huge mistake of updating to the latest Sonos app (I own more than ten Sonos products). As has been well documented, it is a complete and utter disaster. In addition to the numerous bugs, performance issues and elimination of necessary, and popular, features, I have noticed that I lose control over the current track playing. No ability to pause or skip forward. Sometimes the ability to pause, yet no other controls. Please see screenshots. Does anyone else have this issue? Any idea of how to rectify?
