I have had a Sonos speaker for over 6 Months now and its has been nothing but a terrible experience. The app is supper glitchy. The system keeps disappearing from my network, linking services to the app is a nightmare of an experience and getting help form the company is almost impossible. I will never buy another Sonos product, there are way better options out there with way leas issues. I know Sonos has good quality sound, but their user experience is just too terrible for the good sound quality to make up for anything.
Sorry to hear about your issues. Here are a few ideas
Have you called Sonos Tech support? If so what did they say?
Have you run a diagnostic on your system?
Have you unplugged all Sonos and rebooted your router and then plugged all Sonos in 1x1?
Have updated the App which by the way is running pretty smoothly?
Have you updated your device?
Would you consider providing more details about your system and network to this community?
Edit:
While the Play:1 is still supported by Sonos it is nevertheless two and one half generations out of date. As you say you’ve had it for 6 months… how did you aquire it (ie used purchase or as a gift)?
Hello. Im sorry to hear you are having issues with your Sonos speakers, but I totally disagree with many things you have stated.
- There have been many improvements with the app that has made it more stable than when it was released. Many users find it very usable in recent times.
- When you have speakers disappearing, or the whole system not being found, is an indication that there is a problem with your network and/or phone. There are guidelines found HERE that could help you get the best out of your system.
- I had to call support for an Airplay issue i had with a Five and Amp. Not only was support quick to respond, but one support member named Jeffery, stayed on past his shift to help me get it resolved. I would say that support experience was excellent.
I am aware you are simply posting to vent your frustration, but users here have helped many other users get their systems to a working state where they can enjoy their investment. Given a chance, I am sure the same can be done for you.
