I have a question about how I can navigate to the album of a currently playing song from the “Now playing” screen?

I can navigate to the artist of a current song by pressing the “three dots” button, but not to the album.
I would appreciate a screenshot showing me the button or an acknowledgement that this functionality is currently not present.

In general integration of that option has to be done by the music service, if Sonos API supports it as a feature.

In the past it was like that and many services offered the „show album“ option in Sonos app.
Since new S2 was released I never saw that option for any service.

So I suppose it’s still not supported on API side for the new S2 app or isn’t integrated in S2 app. Otherwise I‘m sure there would be at least one service using it.

If i‘m right and there is no other reason, i‘m sure @Corry P or another Sonos mod will pick this up and place it as a feature request.

It's quite obvious that all music services I'm aware of support this functionality. And since it was supported before and now universally absent, it's not the music services that are at fault.

And you would be wrong.  Although Sonos maintains the API (See here:Sonos Developers Portal), the services themselves are responsible for what features and/or functions are implemented by each service.  And though the new app may have made some changes that required new steps to include this functionality, it is still up to the services themselves to implement the new steps.

Yup Sonos borked features in music services with the new app and firmware. Some services didn’t work properly (or at all) or couldn’t be added to the app for weeks/months.

@MyChrmicalRomance

It‘s a fact that both, Sonos and any streaming service, have to work hand in hand to achieve a working user experience. If one of both does changes on its side, the other one will have to adjust itself to the changes.
So after Sonos released new S2 system, the services also had to adopt to some API changes.

Try the Desktop app, I think it can still do it.

And yes, per earlier replies, music services have to support this for it to work, and many do.

This is not a feature I personally use, nor do any of my apps implement it (these facts may be related).

You seem to know an awful lot about how Sonos works and the history of this forum for someone who only joined in the last half month.  Perhaps we’ve seen you before?
