i play Sonos thru the app on my iPhone and iPad using Apple Music. Today we played one playlist for 5 hours. Later when I tried to play an album off Apple Music, it came on and then stopped! Nothing I did would allow it to be heard. On the app, it looked like it was playing but no sound. I had changed nothing! When I brought up the system, all 5 speakers, they looked like they were playing but were grayed out sort of. At the top, the system icon was yellow— I don’t remember if that is normally yellow. I am so frustrated. This happened on my phone, so I tried the app on my iPad. Same! Ugh!!! And of course its710pm Saturday night! I also tried to play Sonos Radio—same.

Did you try restarting the speakers and the router?
Yes. Didn’t help. I called Sonos. Reinstalled the app. Eventually we figured out the speakers had set themselves on mute. I took them off mute by going to each speaker and hitting +. Note: it was playing fine last night and suddenly stopped without me doing anything! So I have no idea how or why it went to mute.
