macOS app update pain

Hi there,

I’m running the latest Sonos app for macOS, and every time an update is announced when opening the app I need to go through the same annoying process:

  • an update is available
  • update downloads, then tells me something went wrong
  • click try again - presto, it works OR
  • it fails, quit the app, start the app, no new updates available

Why?

My Sonos system otherwise happily plays via Airplay, or via iOS app (iPhone or iPad).

Cheers, Ian.

Uninstall the Sonos app fully from the Mac. Ensure any mention of Sonos is no longer there under the Applications folder. Then download it again from the Sonos website. Sometimes the updating of the Mac controller can fail to properly work so it’s best to start again if this happens.

Also, make sure your MacOS is up-to-date.
