Hi @pa-robinson, welcome to the Sonos Community!
I’m sorry to hear that you’ve having issues with your Mac. Is it just the Mac desktop app having issues, or does the Web App on the Mac also not let you see your system? If the Web app also doesn’t work, then it could be due to networking issues.
In any case, I would recommend you reach out to our support team for further troubleshooting. You’ve already done what I would suggest, so our team can look into your system to see why the Mac isn’t connecting to the system.
I hope this helps!
It wasn’t always garbage; it was pretty good originally. It’s only been garbage for about five years.
Well, it really hasn’t been updated recently, since it was put in maintenance mode, and not received any of the feature updates that the mobile controller has. Fortunately, Sonos gave ample warning about that change, though.
I’m in the same boat, just stopped working two days ago after forcing me to update to 16.5. Says it needs to update, but app is up to date. No idea, what to do. All privacy settings are correct, iOS apps work.
Note that on recent MacOS versions you need to enable the new “Local Network” permission for the Sonos app to find any devices.
Why should i have to find, pick up my phone or iPad to control my music when im working on my MacBook, its ridiculous that the web app doesn't mirror the iOS app (which is crap as well).
Same: Sonos App 16.6; MacOS Sequoia 15.3.2 (latest); same symptoms as above; cannot use the app. And yes, I’ve been using this app on the Mac for years and years and years. It did walk me through updating the app and then the Sonos speakers, and showed them briefly. I’ve also reset the app and “reconnected” to the “existing” Sonos system, but can’t use the app (blank/no system). And yes, it has “Local Network” privileges.
