Hi @Submarine

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Error 913 has not been “fixed” because it is informative - there is nothing to be fixed.

The error occurs when the SMB (network folder share) protocol version supplied by whatever device is supplying the SMB connection is not supported by the speakers.

As you have an S2 Sonos system, it seems likely that the system is encountering a SMBv1 share, or a HTTP share, neither of which are supported.

Please remove your existing folder share:

Step 1 - Removing Legacy SMBv1 Sharing

iOS or Android

  1. Open the Sonos app for iOS or Android.
  2. Navigate to Settings, and select Music Library.
  3. Select the icon next to the folder to be removed.
  4. Select Confirm to remove the share.

Windows or macOS

  1. From the Manage menu, click Music Library Settings.
  2. Click on the folder to be removed.
  3. Click - (minus) on Mac, or Remove if using Windows, and confirm.

Once that has been done, please then add the folder once more. If using the Sonos app for your Mac, please be sure to use the third option (NAS drive), or you will continue to run into the same problem.

Full instructions for adding the shared folder (and creating it) can be found here.

I hope this helps, but if you continue to have problems, I recommend you get in touch with our technical support team who have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and what it reports.

After a year of frustration with local libraries on a Windows PC and Mac, you are a prime candidate who should switch to a NAS, instead of being at the mercy of Windows and Mac update issues.

I purchased a Synology NAS just under 10 years ago and have not had a problem connecting to my local library since.
