Quick community Q: How is the latest version of the desktop app for Mac?

(As background, I have deliberately not updated the desktop controller since May as it was the most reliable way to control my system and I wanted to make sure that I at least kept that. Let’s not reopen the whole app issue up again)

However recently it has begun to struggle with a few things - most obviously when trying to start or switch music/playlists in Apple Music. What is the latest version of the app like? I’m happy to switch across if it improves things but I really, really, really don’t want to update it and find out that the new version does less than the one I currently have

Anyone have any experience of using the latest version of the desktop controller on Mac (and I’m using a 2015 iMac)

Thanks!

You should be fine updating the controller. I did the update and everything works fine.

Losing out on functionality is a huge factor why I did it almost immediately.. 😒

Where do find the Mac Controller - the AppStore is empty now of this ?

It has never been in the Mac App Store, it is only available on Sonos’ own website.

The Desktop controllers get very little changes, which is a good thing. The only notable change in the last few months is the annoying detection of perfectly fine, split S1 systems and trying to force you to update them to S2.
