I was hoping after todays firmware update that the S1 app on Android would no longer prompt me or give me the option to turn of said prompt to downgrade to S2 version. Please Sonos, update the app so I can shut this off in settings! Thank you! 😥

Hey @SirDigitalKnight, welcome back!

If your system is S1 only, then it's possible to hide this message. But if there is a product that is S1 and S2 compatible then the messaging will reappear. By S2 I mean the new Sonos App.
I'll mark this thread as feedback and feature request and forward it to the appropriate teams but in all honesty I don't personally see this changing.

Thank you for the post.

Thank you for the reply. I have 3 Connects (ZP90) and yes 2 out of the 3 are S2 compatible but I like the S1 app and desktop controller much better than S2 and have been using the S1 and desktop controller app since 2008 and it would be great if they could add the option to hide that message or to be able to turn off it checking for S2 compatibly in settings. Thanks for forwarding it to the appropriate teams.👍🏼

Looks like new app and firmware updates for my S1 gear has just rolled out and I was hoping that they would have removed the S2 upgrade banner or put something in settings to turn it off, but I am still seeing the popup. 😢

Same here. I blocked the “update.sonos.com” hostname in my firewall so now I don’t see the update message.

Great idea! I will have to try that! Thx.👍

Blocked  “update.sonos.com” but I am still seeing the pop-up 😓

If you have Home Assistant you can get around the very annoying “The Sonos S2 App is now available” pop-up message that Sonos engineers seem to not be able to incorporate a simple switch in settings to turn it off.  🤦🏼

New update to Sonos S1! Lets hope they finally removed the popup notice to upgrade to S2!!! 😁

Seriously… how hard can it be?  Bueller? Anyone???? Bueller??? 🤦🏼
