Hi Guys,I have the latest sonos app version (15.1.1) and the latest iOS firmware (16.3.1) and i can’t see the controls sonos app on my lock screen. The few same issues related on the forum are outdated. Can you help me please to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance,Regards.I have 3 Play:1 and 1 Roam at home. Moderator note: We updated this article in October 2023 with new information below. We’ve removed the ability to control the Sonos app for iOS using lock screen controls and device hardware buttons. The way these features were architected do not meet Apple’s experience guidelines for developers and no longer offer a reliable control experience. The alternatives to controlling volume, mute, tracks that I’m aware of are:Voice control (acknowledging OP rejects this option) Opening up app on phone (again, acknowledging rejection) ‘hard buttons’ on the speakers themselves. For home theatre room, TV remote controls will control volume and mute Various third party smart home remotes Using a
I’ve been noticing lately on my fileserver failed SMB access attempts which I’ve tracked down to two of my Sonos Play:1 speakers.Warning SMB Deny SMB1 host (security limitation). Failed to log inI solely use S2 and the online documentation indicates that Play:1 is supported.https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/sonos-s2-compatibilityWhy are these speakers still attempting to connect with SMBv1? Do they try v1 and if that fails, try v2, etc?I tried removing all music library shared folders from the S2 application and re-added them; still happening. I don’t see any Sonos configuration options to force SMB versions.Sonos OS: S2Version: 15.3Build: 72240060
On a completely ‘refreshed’ network, where my Sonos speakers and components are no more than 10 unimpeded feet away from the router (on a 1 gig network), Spotify routinely skips a song (or more) and starts 10 seconds into a song 4-5 songs down on the playlist.Apparently this is a 4-year old problem without resolution. My research indicates people asking this question that long ago and *still* there is no resolution for it. I spent thousands on Sonos gear at this point. That it is incompatible with the world’s leading music streaming service is pathetic. Why not admit that Sonos doesn’t support Spotify? And why do you close off conversations in this support community as if the problem has actually been resolved?
It would appear that under DSM 7.0beta Sonos Libraries will no longer work, in essence even with SMB 1 enabled due to one of the following: https://community.synology.com/enu/forum/20/post/139213?reply=440018orhttps://community.synology.com/enu/forum/20/post/139200?page=1&reply=440124
All of a sudden this morning my Sonos Radio Stations won’t work. Reset my router. All other service’s work on Sonos - Apple Music and Radio, and TineIn (which is new to pop up on my menu). But cannot connect or play Sonos Radio! Non of the stations work. Cruise control was my go to. What to do. ? did submit a diagnostic report. 1508963402
This seems to be a common problem but the common suggestions won’t fix mine. I had to re-install Windows 10 recently, along with all programs. I downloaded and installed the Sonos application in order to play my music library from the computer, properly set all firewall exceptions, etc., and my computer cannot find my “Sonos product”. The computer is directly connected to the internet/wireless router and my connect:amp and components are connected via wifi. All music streaming services are working properly, after some excellent expertise from Sonos support. Before I bother them again on this problem I’d like to try to resolve it myself, if that’s possible. Can anyone offer a suggestion?
Today, when selecting any of my subscribed BBC Sounds podcasts, I get the message that they are no longer available on BBC Sounds. But they are, and I have to play them through the BBC Sounds app on my iPad. Sonos status page says all services are running fine, so no idea what the problem is. All was working well yesterday. Live radio from BBC Sounds is working ok. 🤷🏻♂️ Anyone else having this issue today? I’m based in the UK.
I am starting yet another thread on this common topic to convince Sonos and Stingray to work out their kinks. This is beyond frustrating. One minute the service is working fine; the next, that annoying message comes up about being unable to play due to connection being lost. Nothing changed, so why is this happening? It’s been a constant annoyance ever since I got my first Sonos speakers a couple of years ago. FIX IT!!! Over the years, I have unplugged and plugged in the router, unplugged and plugged in the speakers, unloaded and reloaded Stingray. All software has been updated. Even if that works, it’s temporary. Totally unsatisfactory performance. Diagnostic: 2137151423.
Sonos speakers are great, but everything about the apps is garbage, and gets worse with each update.Almost everyday, Sonos “forgets” where my library is. I have to go into settings and add the folder again, even though it is already there. Sometimes, I can just start playing something I played recently through the app, even though it says there’s no music library! On the mobile app, when I search an artist, it can’t find the song files I have stored locally on my phone! I’ve checked permissions, I’ve updated… everything. For a while, I could fix this by toggling between new and classic search and now that doesn’t even work. This system is way too expensive for such * software. If I find a better app that can work with these speakers I will absolutely never use Sonos apps again. *Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
My Play 5 v1 was working fine a few days ago. I can browse my music on my Synology NAS via wifi network but it no longer plays. I get the error message unable to play xxx access to my server denied. I have tried rebooting everything. There have not been any updates in this period. Anyone any ideas?
I think this topic may have been raised about two years ago but wonder if anyone has any further updates.I have a high rez subscription to Qobuz but am disappointing to find out that any music file from Qobuz that is not native 24/48kHz will get truncated to 16/44.1 kHz file stream. I understand this is to do with backward compatibility with older speakers on the S2 platform. As I don’t have any speakers older than 2 years , it’s a real bummer.. No problems with non Sonos equipment I have which decodes at the native resolution beautifully. Would love Sonos to enable this to add to all the other positives in owning their speakers . Anyone has any further insider updates on this ?
When trying to use Youtube Music with Sonos One (regardless of the activation way - either iOS app or voice assistant) I am very frequently getting playback issues: it’s playing a song and then suddenly displays an error message saying “the music can’t be decoded correctly” or something similar and skips the song being played. That’s annoying, so I was forced to switch to Google Music, the last has no issues like that. Considering the same songs can be played with no issues on Youtube Music when listening on browser or on mobile devices via Youtube Music app ( headphones, not Sonos ) I am making a conclusion that the problem is on Sonos side.
So I woke up this morning to the dreaded SONOS bong, as BBC Radio 4 through SONOS Radio was not working. I changed it to TuneIn and it played. Later BBC Radio 6 suffered the same problem, and was cured in the same way. Is this a widespread problem? Is there a solution?
I use my Sonos system to listen to my Audible books. I have hundreds of books so I use the search extensively, however, today I tried to search for a book while in the Audible list and Audible is not included in the drop down search. So, it defaults to TuneIn and no results are found. When did this change? Is there a setting I am not seeing? I tried looking under Amazon Music but that is specifically music not Audible. Any help would be appreciated.
I lost the pathway to my music library when I updated my Imac’s OS to High Sierra 10.13.6. I called Sonos technical support and after trying a couple of things the tech suggested that we uninstall and reinstall the app. Now, the app downloaded from the Sonos download site (57.13-34140) will not open my computer. I keep getting the message “Sonos S1 Controller cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure that the S1 Controller works with this version of the macOS”. DOES THE S1 CONTROLLER WORK WITH MAC HIGH SIERRA?Now, not only have I lost access to my music library, I cannot control my Sonos system from my computer anymore.
HelloOvernight a lot of the radio stations I listen to have just stopped working.examples. would be:NTS live 2 (NTS live 1 works)SomaFM - cliqhop and various othersThese were working fine yesterday but no longer workI can access them via chrome without any issues.is there a way to check what the issue is?Thanks
I tried Sonos HD Radio and thought it was decent but not worth the $8 per month so I cancelled. My wife decided she really liked a couple of stations and wanted me to reactivate it. It says I have to call to reactivate, what’s up with that? Like any service I should be able to activate and cancel it online. Would love to hear the logic on that one, Why?
Recently noticed issues with Spotify skipping songs and showing “Song not encoded correctly” errors. But when I manually play the song it works. Other discussion threads suggest this could be a network issue. Here is my setup: Verizon Fios, 1 Gbps fiber Verizon router with wifi off Eero pro (x3) in bridge mode Sonos Amp is WIRED to a Gbps switch coming off the router All other Sonos devices are wireless (Using SonosNet) SonosNet was using channel 11, and when I did a network scan I could see a fair amount of other networks on channels 1 and 11 so I switched SonosNet to channel 6 but it didn’t help. My Verizon router and my Eero system are all using “vanilla” configurations. I don’t mess around with the firewall, port forwarding, etc. Suggestions?
Just got a Sonos One. Speaker plays Spotify great but only when I am home with my iPhone. When I leave my wife can't use it. She has a separate Spotify account on her iPhone. We also have a MacBook Air which also has my Spotify account. What to do? Wife would like to use Sonos One when I'm gone!!!
I typed this out and it got lost, so you’re getting a shortened version. Spotify often starts playing a random playlist when I tell ask the speaker to ‘Play Spotify’ via Google Assistant. For instance, my Arc had been grouped with the rest of my house and was playing the ‘Discover Weekly’ playlist. I then watched some TV, then asked it to play Spotify again. It started playing the ‘Sublime’ playlist, which I haven’t listened to in MONTHS. Additionally, it usually takes two voice invocations to get Spotify playing when it’s been idle for a while. The first one gets a positive response from the Assistant, but neither the Sonos nor Spotify apps think that the speaker is playing. I have to say it again to get it going. Please, please, please fix this, the current behaviour is INFURIATING. I miss the S1 behaviour where it would simply resume playing whatever the most recent device was. As an example, it used to be great that I’d be listening to Spotify on my phone, then get home and just
Hi, i have put all of my music onto an external hard drive and connected it to my talk talk router via usb, when i log into the router the hard driceve is confirmed as connected however when i try to setup music library \\192.168.1.1\buffalo_hd\music it says the there is no share (buffalo) on computer 192.168.1.1, please help… Thanks in advance
Added YouTube Music to the app and it says "No Selections Available". Why? My YT account is fine and verified twice now.
So I have installed Sonos app twice now. Setting up my new Move took over an hour because the app refused to believe my router was actually functioning (another story, but relevant as the app gives misleading info a lot). Anyway, then I go onto adding services and all goes well until my paid YouTube Music account is added. I added it twice (using the whole code paste in and authorizing my Google account) and it went through each time. YouTube was successfully added. But whenever I go into YouTube Music from Sonos, it say “No Selections are Available”. Like why??????? I go onto Youtube and verify I have hundreds of playlists. All my other services work. And before someone answers from a Customer Service script and tells me to reinstall everything and reboot my router...no. Just no. I want actual advice about why Sonos is not reaching youTube. Is there a setting in YouTube or is the app just that flawed where I can look forward to playing YouTube via Bluetooth only? This is wh
