In the Sonos iOS app, scrolling generally freezes in the volume slider window.   This probkem seems worse on the iPad than on tne iPhone.   Resettng the app, clearing the cache, and rebooting the device did not solve the problem.   Luckily, scrolling the volume sliders still works in the Mac app.

Scrolling certain menus does seem broken in the latest iOS app.

Instead of doing the “normal” swipe action in the middle of the menu, I’ve found swiping on the far left or right to be more effective.

The grouping menu is another example where “normal” swiping breaks as soon as you select multiple rooms.

Wait, I’m confused. Which version number are you seeing this issue in? There was an update this morning (Pacific time), was it in that build ( 83.01.9 ), an older build, or both? Does updating the firmware on the speakers make a difference? Which screen’s scrolling locks up, as I’ve been unable to replicate this, I think, on my iPad? Have you called in to Sonos Support to discuss it?

I am running 83.01.9-release+20260325.3a2192af3.   Interestingly, scrolling the volume sliders seems to work on the iPad as long as my finger is on the speaker icon column to the left.   Does not work if I put my finger elsewhere on the screen.

Interesting. I’ve not been able to reproduce this on my iPad.

You’re also talking about the Grouping menu as that had the speaker icons on the left.

Scrolling does still work centrally, but you have to be much more precise in your initial interaction with the screen. If you start the swipe motion inbetween the volume sliders then the room list can scroll, but if you swipe up/down starting on an active/selected room volume slider nothing happens.

Sonos are aware of this scrolling bug, so hopefully be resolved in a future app update.

I have not reported it to Sonos,    Evidently they are aware of the problem.

FWIW, I got a second app update this morning (two, today), did this fix it? I’m now on 83.01.11 for iOS.

I still have the wonky scrolling in 83.01.11.   Scrolling via the icon list still works.

Maybe worth adding your report to Sonos Support , so they have multiple data points to pass on to the person assigned to fix the issue? I still can’t replicate it on my iPad.

Weird.   FWIW, I am running iPadOS 26.4.   So, you can scroll even if you use the middle of the volume slider screen?   I will contact Sonos support tomorrow.   Have a good night.

Yea, I am too…no betas for me, they tend to disrupt too many things. Not a single crash on either of my iPads, so far. Just in case, I tested on an iPhone 16 as well, but no freezes/crashes there, either. I’d be interested in what Sonos support says tomorrow, especially once you are able to get past the Chatbot.

Sonos are aware of this scrolling bug, so hopefully be resolved in a future app update.

Probably due to the new volume slider function in the previous release:

83.00.36 (Android)

Release date: 3/17/2026

In this update:

  • For iOS: Adjust volume from anywhere on the slider for easier control, especially at lower volume levels.

Lets hope they don’t regress the new better volume sliders to keep the ‘swipers’ happy.

Probably, as scrolling still works as expected with an Android controller, only broken on iOS.

I’m not sure if it’s related but over the last 2 or 3 days I’ve noticed that the volume slider is sometimes completely missing on the Android app.

It happened just now. If I scroll up to show all my 4 rooms, none of them have the volume control showing and if I maximise any of them, it is missing from there as well.

As far as I know I’m on the latest version and I don’t have the option to show EQ enabled.

Edit - If I close the app and open it up again, the volume controls show properly.

That’s an entirely different issue.

I’d submit a diagnostic when the slider is missing and contact support.

The agent was clearly incapable of matching the issue to a previous report.

Until you know about a known issue, it won’t be known about. 😀

I just checked Apple Music App, AirPlaying to multiple Sonos Speakers. When selecting the AIrPlay group volume, if you select a volume slider and start to adjust volume, you can not scroll (up/down), unless you release your finger. If you select a volume slider and scroll (up/down), you can not adjust volume (left/right), but only scroll. This is how the Sonos App should work for the Sonos Group volume.
