I have had Sonos products for many years, with around 15 speakers, new and old. These include old Play 1, Play 3 and Play 5, along with more recent Beam, Sonos 1 and Sonos Sub, along with a Sonos Roam. Whatever I do with Sonos 1 or Sonos 2 controllers on my iPhone and constantly resetting these, I cannot find any way to make the system work smoothly as it used to. Sometimes speakers are not recognised, sometimes rooms cannot be added and also volume changes take forever to take place. Why have Sonos made it so impossible to have a simple solution to manage a fully integrated system?
Why are you using S1 and S2 versions of the App. The products you named are all S2 compatible. Click the link

If you have previously downgraded any Speakers to S1 you will have to factory reset them to make them S2 compatible.

Are you suggesting that I download this app and remove all of the other Sonos apps and start again?

Nope this works independently, additional app, keep all your sonos apps, it uses old tech way to control your sonos speakers
Money refunded if not happy

How do the different apps work with each other and why do they not conflict in any way?

Its just a controller app using your local network, doesn’t go to the sonos servers, less delays. It basically finds your sonos players and send urls to them, cant set anything up in it. Been around years well trusted
I will take a look, thanks.

“Conflict” would be a strong comment in this case. Different controller Apps might offer more or less features than the others. Music play is done by the players. Once the music is started the controller can be shutdown.
The situation is different if you are using a music service application, possibly streaming to a player via Bluetooth or AirPlay 2. In this case the player App is usually managing play directly. Multiple applications can be installed on the phone/pad/computer, but it would be a good idea to run only one App at a time.
I will take a look, thanks.
