How do I turn off in app alarm notifications?

I am now getting “An alarm is playing in X room” in-app notifications all the time. Seems to be happening since the last update. I know an alarm is going off. I set the goddamn thing. I want it to go off. What I don’t want is a pop up notification telling me it’s going off. That is incredibly stupid and annoying. I see no way to turn off this notification. I am on the most recent app update, iOS.

The only thing for “Pop-up Messages” in the whole app I can find are for when “new prodcuts or features are available” in the App Prefences section. Doesn’t seem like that’s the place to disable this. Doesn’t seem to be anything about pop-up notifications in the alarm section of the app either...

Truly, this is a solution in search of a problem. I have our dinner music alarms scheduled daily and our wake-up classical music scheduled on the weekend mornings. So, I make heavy use of these. Yes, “alarms” is what they’ve always been called, but if you want to have some music come on at a certain time on a regular basis, you use an alarm, so I think of them as a schedule system. Anyway, as others have said, I know there’s an alarm, I set the alarm. Am I really to think that someone else in the house has configured an alarm that I’m not aware of to play in some room in a faraway wing or something? Nobody else runs the Sonos except me! When I open the app to look at an album cover or the name of a tune while the alarm is playing, I have to dismiss that ridiculous alert and it’s well beyond tiresome at this point. Please get rid of it. Nobody will miss it. I mean, a year you removed half the functionality in the app and had no qualms about it. I kid, I kid. What, too soon?

It’s a useless, annoying feature for 90+% of users. I have three Sonos controllers running 24/7 on walls of my house, and i have to dismiss that freaking message individually on each of them, every morning. Sonos gives us ZERO options to customize the UI, which is ridiculous for a product that different people use very differently. I’ve been asking for YEARS for a default-to-now-playing-screen option. Who the hell wants the UI to stay on the selection or description screen after you’ve selected the music stream you like? I want to see the title and artist!

I’m curious, how did you arrive at the 90% number? I’ve got ‘no dog in this fight’, I don’t use alarms, but I had no idea that 90% of users did. That’s fascinating.

90% of alarm users maybe? I do not use Sonos alarms but I question the necessity of a notification for something you can clearly hear - an alarm going off.
