There is still one big issue for me regarding to volume control of grouped rooms.
In the past the most comfortable way to set all grouped rooms to the same volume level was setting the main slider to zero. Then you immediately were able to raise volume for all grouped rooms at the same level.

Now I have to wait for about 8 seconds!!! after setting to zero before I can raise volume in sync. Otherwise the grouped rooms won’t set to zero.

I really hope Sonos will find a way to get this sorted. A maximum of 2-3 seconds to wait would be welcome for me, or an optional button in group control would be fine to activate synced volume for all grouped rooms (maybe at level of the most „silent“ room of the group).

Hi @Schlumpf,

Thanks for the feature request, I’ve forwarded it to the appropriate team for their consideration: Eight seconds does seem a bit too long to me as well.

If you have any further suggestions or ideas, please don’t hesitate to share them on the community.

@Schlumpf

Edit- same issue here. I re-read your post and after bringing slider to zero I waited eight seconds and saw the same behaviour.

My suggestion if anyone from volume slider UI team is reading this:

  1. Change the volume sliders so you don’t have to play target practice and actually move the ‘dot’, just touch the slider either left or right of dot and slide the volume (ie same as volume sliders in Apple Music) this simple change would make it so much easier to change volume if you don’t have your glasses to hand and/or small device and/or big fingers and/or had a few beers.
  2.  Re above sync volume, I had never noticed this, I had always adjusted individually (different size speakers in different size rooms sound differently), but if you do want to sync, maybe a long press (1 second) of the volume ‘dot’ without moving ‘dot’ on the room you want to sync volume to to avoid uninterrupted listening by reducing volume the raising again.

Not just the volume sliders but EQ sliders etc too. You have to be much more precise in the Sonos app compared to previous S2 app. Quite often it can take 2 or 3 attempts to move a slider using a swipe due to the terrible UI.

There should be absolutely no delay when moving the volume slider to zero to sync the group volume numbers. If people wanted to keep the same proportions for each grouped room, but silence the group then they would just use the group mute option. Sliding the group volume to zero is a specific action used to synchronise the speakers in the group to the same volume number.

I’d certainly hope any requested change to sliders in the app would be applied to all sliders, not just volume.

I get that, but my point was why should you have to set volume to ‘0’ to sync the volume, as this interrupts the sound in all the rooms in that group, this is probably why I have never found or used used this feature. My suggestion, a long press on the room you want to sync to would avoid interrupting the sound.

Yes, I wasn't disagreeing with your suggestion. My point was really around how users have previously accomplished this action. The ability to sync all grouped speakers without first muting would be a better user experience.
