Recently moved, brought my Gen 1 play 5's but forgot my connect. What else will run the 5's? Gen 1 Beam ? Don't want to buy another connect as I have 2 and the Amp on the other side of the country. I use tidal for music.

Thanks

Steve

The Play:5 (Gen 1) will work on its own. But if you want to add other Sonos devices to use together with the Play:5, choose Sonos devices that are S1 compatible.

A Sonos Connect is a music player. You do not need one to run a Play 5. A long time ago Sonos needed a Sonos Bridge to work, but since at least the las ten years can run a Sonos speaker on your wifi. Take a look here to se how: https://support.sonos.com/article/set-up-your-sonos-play-5-gen-1 When connected through wifi the Play 5 can play Tidal by itself.
