I get Favorites is full when trying to save a song to favorites. Been like that for years! When will they allow more than what the old app allowed. It’s only a list! Any fixes?

Hello @John_116, welcome back!

The current limit for Sonos Favorites is 70 items. If you’d like to add new Sonos Favorites you will need to remove older ones.

I’ve marked this thread as a feature request to increase the limit and forwarded it to the appropriate teams for consideration.

Thank you for the post and I hope this helps.

This limit is so stupid! Why would you have a limit on the number of favorites? In my case it seems to be 60 songs. What a joke.

How many favourites do you want? 100? 1,000? 1,000,000? At what point does “favourites” become just a list?

Isn’t it just a list? What’s wrong with it being just a list? A ”favorite” list. I think 1000 songs would be reasonable if it’s so important with a limit. 60 is just so weird. Most people probably have more than 60 favorite songs.

Why not simply create a playlist and call it “My Favourites”?

I use favorites for Amazon Playlist and Stations for the most part, while having more would be nice say 100-200, dealing with the ones that go dead due to lack of Sonos/Amazon coordination would be even more frustrating.

Playlists will support thousands.

Because it’s not as easily accessible. Unfortunately the ”home screen” is very limited (can’t add your own stuff), and if you go into Sonos Favorites, you can’t even change the order of your playlists, another obvious thing to fix by the way.

Also really needed is the ability to edit the names, having multiple "top songs" entries is quite frustrating.

Even having the system smart enough to get the artist name so you see "Velvet Underground Top Songs" would be an improvement.

Having a limit on favorites - whatever that limit is - is actually very good design (although hiding that limit is really bad design). Also, I suspect the reasonable limits, and the usefulness of favorites navigation, differ depending on the item. My personal use-case is a go-to list of my favorite artists (the list probably hovers around 30-40 artists) and the 5 or 6 albums I have on heavy rotation. But if it was “20 artists, 20 albums, 20 playlists...” instead of “70 things” I would adapt.

Unless I’m missing something fundamental, the purpose of the “favorites” feature is to provide quick links to the things you’re regularly listening to (for everything else there’s search and browse). And I think we can all agree the current favorites implementation is a. very good on the desktop and 3rd-party apps, and b. completely broken on the Sonos mobile app, due to the sorting by reverse-date-added, and the never-fixed “every playlist is a favorite” bug.
