Just a tip in case your downgrade to S1 fails during detection of your Sonos device in the S2 app after starting the downgrade process.

In my case I did the downgrade via my Android phone which was connected to my 5Ghz WiFi. I had to switch my phone to 2.4Ghz WiFi first and then start the downgrade.

Hi @Daniel_50

Thanks for sharing this tip for downgrading speakers. I don’t see anything that says you can’t be on 5Ghz when attempting the downgrade: it’s likely that if your router isn’t allowing multicast packets to be sent between the wireless bands. I’d check to make sure Wireless Isolation or a similarly named setting isn’t enabled on your router.

This is still helpful for users who want to downgrade to S1 as a quick solution, and I hope it helps any others who run into this issue.

@Jamie A

My home WiFi setup has two seperate ssid names and are either 2.4 or 5 Ghz. Maybe that explains my downgrade experience.
