+100 to all that's said. Just another pretty serious customer ($10k all in?) who works in tech and is befuddled at how bad the new app and rollout are. Services no longer work, simple features like mute are not to be found, and then the mysterious "something went wrong" message popping up every time I click.

72 hours and the guys at Sonos are twiddling their thumbs and done nothing to improve things. The buck stops at the top and Patrick Spence should be booted out for this debacle.

I now have 17 paperweights.  The app has rendered them non functional.  Something is happening in the background.  The app now realizes most exist, but cannot connect.  I have tried what everyone else has.  I have also tried to move to S1, but cannot, as a speaker reset to enable this, won’t work.

This app rollout is truly astounding, which I ponder in silence.

I've uninstalled mine and reinstalled the old. Version of the app from here:

https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/sonos-inc/sonos-for-android/sonos-for-android-16-1-release/

Everything's fine now. 👍👍

Disaster of an update! No music library, no queueing, no crossfade, volume going up & down, speakers dropping in & out! Near useless! How long before an update fixing ALL these issues? Seriously consider getting rid of ALL Sonos products if not within 7 days, just too many dissatisfied customers!

Agree and just have to chime in . This new app is NOT user friendly and am having all kinds of glitchy issues just getting my whole system to work as used to !

Anyone have fix to re-install old version of iOS app?

I don't usually complain, but this new app is really horrible. The new look is fine, but the functionality is almost unusable. And the removed functionality is unacceptable, in my opinion.

Thanks Achmax!!!!!!!!!
You made my morning.  The app works.
not pretty.  Some limits, but better than having 17 paperweights.

Yes I did it and after it was impossible to use it without an update. It’s like a nightmare.

Another upset user here. I have many sonos amps driving speakers in multiple locations and have used sonos for many years. The new app is a disaster on many levels-- buggy, missing features, and a user interface that is a significant step backwards-- hard to figure out, overlapping “tabs” that make no sense, multiple taps where it used to take one to do simple things, etc. Minimally, sonos owes it to customers to allow them to use the older apps until they get the new one sorted out. They should also admit that they screwed this up… a good company takes responsibility for it’s failings, and works diligently to improve.

Agree 100% with everyone here (circa £4500 spent). As a Digital Product Owner / Business Analyst, its just not possible for Sonos to have released this without multiple teams knowing the implications.

In addition to this, there's no way that what is essentially a brand new app would be live without all of the top brass having it in their hands to play with it. I'm not actually sure what the USP for this actually is, considering they have removed such a large amount of functionality - this is far bigger than the jump from the old app and from what I can tell, with a complete raft of defects that would take them months to work through.

FYI - It seems any existing alarms are still operational (there's an Android comment about someone who now can't turn it off) but the functionality is removed. Not that I've tried it but anyone who needs them might be able to activate/ change them using the Sonos PC app (hoping they haven't butchered that yet).

For me, this is a much bigger deal than the debacle around S1 / S2 (which I was also impacted by).

This horrible update pushed me into taking the final step leaving Sonos. Have all my music on local NAS and quite a lot HD-tracks. Bought a Bluesound PULSE FLEX 2i and I have never been happier.

I’m totally agree with all of this comment! The worst update ever!! Who is in charge of this? The brand will pronounce something asap?

please roll it back!!

Hi JanBanan,

I just had a look at Bluesound products.

I guess that I will change to Bluesoubd as well. 👍👍

That’s just a bad idea. Wait this out for a bit, see how it plays out. Buy a third party app or look into something like LMS that will allow you to use your Sonos speakers outside the Sonos control environment.

This is absolutely shambles of an update by an utterly clueless company.

New App will browse to my library folders on my local server, but ever since this update it WILL NO LONGER que up the contents of a folder. Since the new app, it will only que ONE SONG from my library folders at a time?! Please roll us back to the previous version of this App. This is a nightmare for our household.... we honestly all feel betrayed and cannot play our music the way we have always loved.

SERIOUSLY SONOS?!? So, your new app, which auto updates in my phone, deleted every single Sonos playlist I’ve created? And it was, of course, impossible to export them at any point to save them, so you vaporized a huge part of my music listening experience. Do you even TEST your software updates before you release them?

Or, if there was going to be no way, you could avoid vaporizing playlists with your new update, which is observed to begin with, possibly warn people, so they could figure out how to manually recreate them?

And where on God’s green Earth have you moved “Alarms” to? I only use that feature regularly for my kid to wake up every morning for school.

I have been a customer for 14 years now. No other way to put this, you suck terribly. And of course, no reparation from you for the harm done, we’re all stuck having invested many thousands of dollars into your ecosystem.

SMFH.
