Exact opposite of everything I’ve Googled.

I deleted an album from my NAS. It’s gone. I’ve searched and searched and it ain’t anywhere.

Yet it still appears - and plays - from my Music Library. (Yes I’ve updated my Library and yes I’m using updated versions of controllers...)

Of course, there’s no way to see any of the underlying data of the file to try to trace it.

Anyone else seen anything like this?

My guess is you’ve deleted it but it’s gone to a ‘Recycle Bin’ on the NAS in the same share/volume.  As Sonos can still see it (albeit in a different place), it plays it.

Empty the Recycle Bin, re-index and try again.

@Alonzo Mosley

And to get clarity about that I recommend sending a diagnostic while a song is playing. Call Sonos support and tell them the diag number, so they can take a look at this and probably see the files source and path.

I did a Search w/ Total Commander and nothing turned up (it is supposed to check trash...).

But you’re right, it was in there, along with everything I’d ever deleted - for some reason I never noticed the conflict (most deletions were to fix tags or upgrade from MP3 to FLAC… This was the first album where I was like, I know I deleted that).

Thanks, that did the trick.

And any time I don’t spend trying to deal with Sonos techs is time saved...
