Default Favorite or Playlist when queue is empty

Like these older topics, I’d love for there to be an option to set a favorite or playlist as the default, so I don’t need to find my phone or computer to get some tunes goin’. Rather than get told to go stick it by my speaker (getting the ›failed action‹ sound).

Current behavior

When device hasn’t been used/is powered on > Press the play button > Nothing happens (Failed action sound plays)

Expected behavior

Being able to set one of my favorites as the default favorite in the apps. It would be greatest if a default can be set for each room/speaker-group, but one for all would also be better than the current implementation.

After having set this:

I turn on my speaker > Press the play button > It starts playing the default favorite (no other device needed).

Notes

If there is a queue, I don’t want it to clear it. This could also be a nice feature to be able to set (e.g. clear queue after (x) minutes/hours), but personally the current queue behavior works for me.

Hi @ssssaaaaaaa

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Thank you - I've marked this thread as a feature request and it will be seen by the relevant teams for consideration. Keep the ideas coming!

I would also make good use of this feature, were it added - it sounds like a good idea to me!
