My app is FINALLY working correctly & now it's forcing me to update. I can no longer avoid it. It goes straight to ‘Sonos system needs a software update’ I used to be able to close it & reopen & I could still use the app as I normally did.  Every time I update it gets worse & it’s been fine now for 2 mos. Anyone know any tricks to avoid the update & still have a useable app? HELP!!!

Too late now, but if you disable auto updates on phone, tablet, pc (any controller, in other words) and in the app itself, you should be fine. (Adding a new device to your network will also probably force an update.)

Auto update has been shut off.  I can’t get in the app without it IMMEDIATELY telling me I need to update.  I can’t do anything with the app anymore.  No matter how many times I close it out.  It doesn’t matter anymore.  Things are working fine and I don’t want to update it.  It seems like things start working fine (magically) and then when everything is going good, I’m forced to update and then back to the app being unstable.  This s**** annoying! 🙄

Maybe try the Clic or SonoPhone/ SonoPad app…all three work flawlessly.

BOTH auto update settings are off? In the App and in the App Store settings?

Missing either can lock you into the update requirement. As can another user clicking update and not telling you.

Just do it… You say the app is working, so that’s great. All the speakers are trying to do is get to the firmware version that keeps the app working. Updating the speakers will bring them in line with the app, not break anything. Many of the previously lost features will only come back or work properly with updated speakers.
Update the system and get on with your life.

Every time I’m forced to update, that’s when things go sideways and it can’t find my system, volume doesn’t work right (too loud/too quiet) etc.  I spend time opening/closing the app for it to find the system I’ve had set up for years.  It works perfectly fine the way it is for the first time in a year.  I don’t want to ruin it again.

Yes, both of those are shut off.  I made sure of it with all the issues the app has had this past year or so.

Getting updates with the settings set to disabled should be discussed with support, something is very wrong.
