Cannot upgrade to use Sonos 2 app

My iPod is about 8 years old and it contains, within iTunes, my entire music collection.  I used to play them on my Sonos 1 speakers in different rooms using AirPlay.  Now the Sonos S1 app tells me I must use the Sonos 2 app.  But my iPod will not upgrade to a high enough IoS version to use Sonos 2.  What do I do?  How can I get my iTunes library to talk to my Sonos system?

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

If you’re using AirPlay, then you don’t need the Sonos app to be on your iPod at all - just continue to use AirPlay and you’ll be fine.

I hope this helps.
