Hi, I have messaged about this before and you told me that you could see it was an issue for iPhone users only but that it wasn’t a priority.
I’d really like it to be fixed, because after all this time it appears to me that it’s not going to be.
The issue is that the when I try and ‘continue listening’ a BBC Sounds title it just starts from the beginning.

Hello @Simon_140, welcome back!

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing an issue where tapping “Continue listening" from BBC Sounds within the Sonos App, the playback starts from the beginning.

I had a look at the internal notes and your previous thread in regards to this issue and as it was told there, this still has low priority.

At this point, I’m gonna mark this thread as a feature request and forward it to the appropriate teams, since this function in combination with Podcasts and BBC Sounds is not yet available within the Sonos App.

I hope this helps.

Hi there

Thanks for responding.
But, this is not a feature request - It’s a feature that already exists (and one which worked on the previous app), but doesn’t function; there’s a whole section titled ‘Continue Listening’ within the BBC Sounds section

According to the previous thread it does work for Android users, but not iOS.

Just tried this on an iPhone and BBC Sounds ‘Continue Listening’ selections do resume from the last played position and not from the start.

Is your Sonos app/devices fully updated?

Everything is up to date; are you playing that from the Sonos app?
The ‘Continue Listening’ section hasn’t functioned for me since the app update last year.
If I find the title under ‘Subscribed’ and then play an ep from within that it carries on from where I left off, so the data is obviously there, somewhere.

Yes, resuming play from the Sonos app version 80.22.33

As it’s working for me, you may be better contacting Sonos Support to investigate further as to why it works for some but not others.

Yes, that’s the app version I have.

I’ll try support - thank you.

Hi @Mr. T,

Can I just check that you’re definitely playing something from within the BBC Sounds ‘Continue Listening’ section within the Sonos app and that your iPhone is on iOs version 18.5?

I just spoke with someone on the support line and they advised me to do a reboot of all my speakers and router, which I’ve done and the problem is still there.

It’s just weird to me that it works from the Sonos app (not the web-app) on my MacBook and your iPhone, but it doesn’t work on the two iPhones we have in this house or the web-app; in other words, I can only get it work when I use the pre-May 2024 iteration of the app on my MacBook.

Thanks for your help!

Yes, 100% I’m playing from BBC Sounds > Continue Listening section within the Sonos app, with iPhone on iOS 18.5. iPad Pro also works using iPadOS 18.5

I did recently remove and reinstall BBC Sounds on Sonos, so maybe that is a factor?!

Thanks @Mr. T your help is much appreciated.
I’ve deleted and re-added BBC Sounds and it’s still the same. I’ll try support again tomorrow - I’m determined to work out what it is now.
