Audio drop outs every 5 minutes on Tunein Radio Station

Hi All, I have a very mixed Sonos system and is used mostly for listening to the radio around the house. My problem is that the audio drops out for a few seconds every five minutes when listening to radio stations through all the radio apps I can find on the music service page. However, if I listen to music on either Apple Music or tidal there are zero problems - rock solid!!

i always keep software up to date and yes I’ve done the turn everything off including router and what must be a dozen or so tries. 


My WiFi is rock solid and I have fibre 600/600 so no speed issues

Might be time to wait for a glitch and submit a diagnostic within a few minutes. Once submitted call support as they can see internal data we users can't.

    FYI….

    Having 600/600 upload/download (I assume  verified via a speed app on your device) doesn’t necessarily mean you are getting that to your Sonos. Sonos uses much more bandwidth than a cell phone or tablet. There are other factors involved such as internal and external Wi-Fi interference.

    Also you mentioned that streaming Apple Music and Tidal you have no issues. Are you streaming via the Sonos App or the native app for those services over AirPlay? Either way the situation is usually the reverse for most members in the community.😂

    All said take the advice of ​@Stanley_4 to submit a diagnostic. Do so within 10 minutes of the next occurrence. Make note of the reference ID; but DON’T post it in the community. Call tech support to discuss the data.

      There’s a difference between music streaming services (Apple Music, Tidal, Spotify etc.) and radio stations aggregators like Tunein, MyTuner etc.:
      While the former stream the content from their own servers, the latter just provide URL’s to the radio stations’ own streams. Therefore the actual connection bandwidth and reliability may vary between different stations.

      So here come a few questions:

      1. Do you have the same issue with every radio station on e.g. Tunein or other radio service, or only some specific stations which you use to listen?
      2. Are the same stations played without issues on your PC or phone via Tunein etc., on the same WiFi connection as your Sonos use?
      3. Are they played without issues directly from the station’s own app or web site (if those are available)?
