Arc & Sub sounds 'terrible' streaming music from NAS

I have my Arc and Sub connect to QNAP NAS with .aif music files but playback is terrible. On the same set-up movies sound great and streaming music from Sonos radio sounds good. Wondering if other people with similar set-ups have the same problem?

What happens if you copy and convert one or more of your AIFF files to FLAC and try playing them?

 

What happens if playing your AIFF files from another server?

Hi Stanley_4:

Yes, i have that on my to-do-list, just did not get a chance as yet. My DB Power Amp ripper also has a nice batch converter so plan to put a few sample tracks on a USB and plug that into the Sonos Arc. Thanks for the insight.
