Apple OS & Sonos app connectivity

My buddy Reno refuses to upgrade his iPhone to os 18.1 because he claims it will cause the Sonos app to no longer function and he will be unable to use his system (eras and an arc). He refused to just play music through Apple or Spotify because he is equal parts stubborn and dumb. My group chat is not a green text hellscape because of this issue. Is Reno dumb or does he have merit? If the latter, what is solution?

Don’t have any opinion on Reno, but I can say I’m running iOS18.1 on three devices, and the Sonos S2 app runs without any difficulty.

I don’t use Apple Music, or Spotify, but my system plays local NAS stored music, and connects to iHeart radio without issue.

I rarely use my iPad, just for Trueplay, took it out to charge and update and ended up with the latest Sonos app and v18 running the iPad.  Both seem to be working fine.
