Apple Lossless Compatibility

Hey, all - now that Apple Lossless is released for some Sonos products, it’s time to consider an upgrade.

My current listening set-up is a stereo pair of Play:3s with a sub (gen 2).

Given that Apple Lossless will not play over Play:3s, I am ready to upgrade to a pair of 5s.

My question is: if I connect my gen 2 sub to the pair of 5s, will that negate the ability to play Apple Lossless?

Sonos has not added Apple Music lossless compatibility to Sub g2. There’s a caveat when connected to amp or recent soundbars, but not 5s.

Thanks, BMZ - so, if I connect the sub G2 to the play 5s, no lossless.

Guess i really have to figure out whether lossless through a pair of 5s will sound better than lossy through 3s and sub.

thoughts?
