I just bought a used phone (Samsung galaxy s6) to use as a dedicated Sonos controller. When I go to Google Play to download the app I am getting an error message saying “This app is available only for your other devices”. It offers to install the app on my other phone and tablet, which both already have the app. Same story with both Sonos app and S1.

Searching for ‘sonos’ in Google Play pulls up nothing! Same with clicking on the ‘Sonos Inc.’ link.

Is it the phone? My old phone was an S6 and I used Sonos on it without problems.

I’ll keep searching the archive here, but haven’t found reference to this particular problem.

Help!

Kim

Which OS is running on this Android S6? You may want to check this FAQ.

It’s also possible that it may have been downloaded before, and is no longer ‘available’ for that OS.

I assume you paid about $5 for an 8-9 year old phone running Android 7, that hasn't had updates for around 9 years - so you hopefully haven't wasted too much money….

In that time Sonos has had many updates, not all for the better, but the current minimum supported version is Android 10 I think.  Even the older S1 version (is your system running that?) needs 8 I think…

Basically, the phone is waaaaay past it and shouldn't really be used, especially for any Internet facing use cases…
