Android App: Unable to Play Custom TuneIn Station, Favorite is Grayed Out

Hi everyone,

I have a radio station that I added to my Sonos favorites using the old Windows app. I created it in "TuneIn/My Radio Stations" using the URL <http://turntable/>.

In the new Windows app, I can still find this radio station in my Sonos favorites and start playing it.

However, in the new Android version, the icon for this radio station is visible but grayed out and cannot be selected.

How can I, in the new versions of the Sonos app for Windows and Android:

  • define a radio station by URL
  • edit this definition
  • and start/stop this station?

Thank you!

This issue appears to have been resolved. Deleting and re-adding the custom station helped. Props to Alexandru Gabriel A from Sonos Support.

That didn't last long, the error occurs again, as described in the introductory post.

My suspicion is that the joint installation of ‘TuneIn’ and ‘TuneIn (New)’ is somehow related to this.

The synchronisation of the installed services between Windows PC and Android mobile also seems to have an influence.

The fact that the TuneIn service is only available on Windows, but not on Android, and that it is the service that sets the URL for the custom station, could also have an influence.
