The latest release notes for 80.20.33 (Android) on 05/08/25 indicates this was included:  “For locally-stored music libraries, making it possible to queue entire folders”.  However, that doesn’t seem to be the case.  Anyone else having any luck?  In fact, I notice that I now have 2 issues:

1. There is still no option to add entire folders from my music library to a queue (nor replace queue, add to end of queue, play now, etc.).  This hasn’t existed since the wonderful app “upgrade” almost a year ago.  I’ve made do by using the desktop app to modify queues, create playlists, etc. which is a real pain.

2. However, now I noticed that I can no longer add/replace/play my existing music library playlists (.m3u) to a queue either.  Sometime over the past several months this became an option… but when I try to do it now, it just spins and nothing happens.  So, I’ve gone backward in functionality once again... and it’s getting really old.

Anyone else having similar problems and/or workarounds?  I tried the Chat, but that was useless.  They did supposedly create a case # for me and told me to call the 1-800 for additional assistance.

I found several other threads around this topic where Sonos said adding music folders “was coming”… so when I started having more problems, I came out to check the latest release notes, community, etc. and saw that it was supposedly added on 5/8 (but it’s not an option for me).

Update:

After spending almost 2 full hours on the phone with a support rep, trying various diagnostics from phone app, desktop app, lots of test cases, (I’m a software developer myself), and finally doing a screen share from my phone - we determined that the issue is with playlists that are about 100+ songs long (depends on length of songs).

The workaround is to load playlists with <100 songs from phone app, but playlists that are longer must be loaded from the desktop app.  No explanation as to why larger playlists used to work from the android app, but I don’t expect him to know that.

The most helpful part of the discussion was that he showed me that Sonos Playlists are back on the Android App!  Apparently, they are now buried under “Sonos Favorites” for some reason, which I never really used before, or don’t recall using… since it’s been about a year since I could use my Sonos Playlists.  (Not that I’m bitter about that or anything…😉)  From reviewing the release notes, it looks like this feature was re-added in March (in a “gradual rollout”).  I remember checking after that update as well, but it didn’t work (or I couldn’t find it), so I never bothered digging around more, since I’ve been so used to failed software updates that never really panned out.

It’d be nice to get some compensation for my “IT services” for the past 2 hours, especially after all the frustration for the past year, but whatever.  I’m just glad we got some things working.  The rep did say he was going to send my info/details about the 100-song limit to the engineering team.

It’s been a frustrating year as a Sonos owner, but at least it looks like a few of the main features I used (Sonos playlists & adding music library folders to a queue) have finally been re-added.
