Last update you can’t choose songs or use shuffle. … this new app suck

 Choose songs from what source?  Are you also saying the shuffle icon is missing from the Now Playing screen?

Spotify. It worked before the update. Icon shows but it doesn’t work &

 Just used “Add to end of queue” to load a Spotify playlist I created.  Then I touched the shuffle icon.  It mixed em’ up good.  Done on an iPhone with the 80.x app.

Yes, it is working on when you access Spotify direct via Sonos, but not on the Sonos app.

What is happening specifically when you try using Spotify in the Sonos app? Talk us through it so we can be of more help.

Its as usual and shuffle works. But I selldom access Spotify direct as I use Sonos app which now doesnt work with shuffle it only takes the first song.

 I used the Sonos app to test shuffle of a Spotify playlist.  Don’t ever use Spotify connect.
