Adding tracks to Spotify playlist in the new app

Hi

In the old app it was possible to add the currently playing track (when playing through Spotify) to a Spotify playlist.

This was removed in the initial new app clusterhug, I was wondering if it had been put back yet?

I get that sonos wants to keep us all as in house as possible but it's missing the point, I want to build playlists that I can listen to at home on my sonos and away on my phone. Sonos playlists don't allow for that.

Listening to music with my better half on a night and adding stuff to our playlists was one of the most common ways we used to use it

Thanks

Hello @Hatstand, welcome to the Sonos Community!

I am not able to discuss the Sonos Roadmap, but as of this moment, you are not able to add what is currently playing in the Sonos App to a Spotify playlist.

I’ve marked this thread as a feature request and forwarded it to the appropriate teams for consideration. I would also suggest you reach out to Spotify for this feature, as they are responsible of the integration within the Sonos App.

Thank you for the post and feedback, it is much appreciated!

Thanks @Sotiris C. although I'm not going to hold my breath, I think this was allegedly added to a wishlist about a year since.

It's a really useful feature, because it means either of us can drive, add tracks to the queue to play and then add stuff we like to the Spotify playlist. You can't do that if you have to resort to driving through Spotify connect.

As for the Spotify end, the ability is clearly there because it still works in the old app.

Still holding on to the old app by the skin of our teeth but have no faith that we'll be able to use our (extensive) system the way we want to if we relent and upgrade.

Keep seeing things in the "press" that sonos thinks it's out of the woods with the app but it seems like there are still features missing

Thanks
