My goodness add ing music so that Sonos can play it is NASTY

The last time I saw something this complex was when the OS was Unix 5.4.

Is Sonos really this bad?

A way to be able to play music on music speakers is really really complex, I have a large (ish) library collected over decades.

And Sonos a Music Speaker company really does not want users to well play music.

It has taken several hours to figure out how to just point the MacOS Sonos app at the local Music folder.

Wow these developers weren’t on drugs, which is what I assumed, they are vindictive, nasty people who hate people who like music, their reason d’être is to punish people and to discourage people.

Never have I encountered such anti user programming, some ideas for improvement, the path to the library must be in hexadecimal using java syntax.

Come guys there is so much more potential to hate on your customer base.

Keep trying you will get there!!

The question is what more can you put into your product to demonstrate your hate for them?

Hi @Busta999,

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been having issues with adding your Music Library to your system.

Thanks for sharing your feedback around this process, if I read it correctly: you were able to get your library added and showing on the MacOS Sonos app, or is this not the case and you’re still having issues? If you’re still getting the Error 913 message, or a different error/issue, then please let me know so I and other community members can provide some troubleshooting steps.

Otherwise, was there a specific bump you ran into when trying to add your library that you managed to resolve? I’d be happy to share your feedback on the process with the team.

Nothing explicit except that it extremely difficult to get SONOS to use an existing music library, I Tried a few years ago and it was bad then so bad I was sure it would improve.

It has not.

The app Sonos app is broken, fails over really stupid things, and error messages are incorrect or meaningless.

I challenge to use any Sonos employee (preferably a Mac user) and have them follow the on screen instructions and only on screen instructions to get this working.

It will result in an extremely frustrated employee.

This is not rocket science…. It is Music, and the hate that Sonos shows to its users who have music collections built over decades is tangible.

I like Sonos, I have very low expectations, so most the silliness has not overly impacted me, but this is pretty fundamental for a Music player!

I really hope you eventually get around to fixing this, but given no progress for several years not really expecting any.
