I am unable to add my itune music library (many thousands of tracts) to sonos

Why not exactly?

Note that you don’t ’add music to Sonos’, you give Sonos access to music that already exists elsewhere. Sonos doesn’t store the music, it only has a reference to where the music already is.

I have 200 to 300 music albums in my Itunes music library and I want Sonos to access them.

In my ‘Sonos music library settings’ there is the folder C:/User/Users/Music ITunes which I have assumed holds my Itunes music library.

When I cllick ‘Update Sonos Music Library’ I only get 6 music albums appear (the same 6 albums which are also stored in my Iphone. Where are the other albums?

Have you lost access to them, or is this your first time setting up your library?

Are they stored in a format that Sonos recognises?

This has only happened in the last few days since I deleted music in my Sonos music library setting and reinstalled it.(did I reinstall it correctly?) I did this on the advice of Sonos during a telephone call because I was having problems. Before that I have been using Sonas successfully for many years.

Since you did have access and now you don’t, I think you need to be sure you’re re-linking to the correct location.

And, since you’re using Apple Music, you’ll want to also use the ‘export as .xml’ in the Apple app, so that Sonos has something to read and import.

Only 6 music albums out of 300 to 400 are held on my computer. The rest are in ICloud.

The 6 are the only ones to appear in my Sonos music library after updating it.

How do I access the rest ?

Since it’s your computer and your cloud account, we can’t tell you that in the level of detail you seem to be asking. Like you, we are users, not Sonos support staff. But unless you’ve moved the files, it’ll be the same way as you had before.

Can you see where they are in your Apple Music/iTunes settings?

Hi @roger7

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Only 6 music albums out of 300 to 400 are held on my computer. The rest are in ICloud.

The 6 are the only ones to appear in my Sonos music library after updating it.

This is fairly telling. Please copy the tracks currently stored in iCloud to local storage (to the same location as the 6 albums that do show) and re-index from within the Sonos app: Settings » System » Music Library » Update Music Index Now.

I hope this helps.
