I currently pay for Apple Music. In the middle of the album today I heard an announcer tell me what song I was listing to and it was from Apple Music.

I run the Sonos app on my phone then search up the album on Sonos using Apple Music service that is linked.  Why would Sonos ruin the experience with an ad? Who is that ad for?   Apple clearly didn’t do it because I’m paying for it already.

Has this happened to anyone else?  If Sonos did it. Stop?

Sonos, to my knowledge, doesn’t ‘insert’ ads in the middle of a stream, I suspect what you heard was sent by Apple.

Thank you for your response. I have been using Apple Music since 2016 and have never heard it before. Why now?

Good question: have you asked it of Apple?

Do you have any voice assistants on your system?  If so, an announcement of what is playing and from where is a feature of the voice assistant.  It may have interpreted a sound as the command for “What’s playing?”.

That’s very cleaver. I didn’t think of that. Maybe. But it I was alone doing computer work and just came on like a commercial. I’m shocked no one else has heard it. Apple hasn’t gotten back to me yet.
