AccuRadio Album Art missing

How come there is no Accuradio album art on the Sonos app?  It shows on the Windows controller so I know the artwork exists.

Any ideas?

Accuradio isn’t sending the correct Album Art info through the SMAPI? Have you contacted Accuradio about it?

Since Sonos doesn’t have access to the AccuRadio servers, other than a port to point your Sonos system to, they’re unlikely to be able to do anything more than you have, other than perhaps having a different contact point. Which might help, but I wouldn’t hold a lot of hope for that.

Hopefully a forum moderator will pass this concern up the chain, but ultimately, even calling Sonos Support to discuss it may not help, unless the issue is on Sonos’ side…something that would likely be impacting all streams, not just AccuRadio’s.

I’m sorry you’re not getting a response from AccuRadio. They probably don’t have a ton of customer support folks, but that’s a guess. I don’t deal with them myself.

I've contacted Sonos numerous times regarding this but there's no remedy.  This all began with the app change in May 2024 as the artwork was there prior.

My suspicion is that AccuRadio isn’t sending the correct data, format wise, which may not have been an issue with the older controller, but doesn’t match the correct spec required by Sonos. Unfortunately, Sonos doesn’t have control over what data is sent, so there isn’t much of a chance for them to correct the situation. But I’d still call Sonos Support to discuss it.

My suspicions aren’t hard data, unfortunately, the Sonos folk you call would have a much better chance of looking at the data coming in, looking at your system, and even possibly the connection between you and AccuRadio. However, they still wouldn’t have access to the data actually on the AccuRadio server, Sonos just receives what it is sent.

I’d certainly hope that you come back to tell us what you learn.

Since the new app I've had this on BBC radio streams. Good on PC app but absent on Android app.

BBC podcasts and general iPlayer individual shows are fine, just no artwork for radio streams outside of the PC app...

I can guess why it doesn’t work, based on my history with many music services in my app. This very much sounds like the url handling for the art, or the proxying of it, can’t handle the Accuradio urls. Reasons I recall include relative urls (relative to what? Good question, especially when proxied).

As the OP says the Desktop app works (and mine do too), its a mobile (or proxy) app bug for Sonos to address.
