The December app update announces the new feature below for the android app.

But where is it?  It doesn't appear on the music library settings screen as it does in the iOS app.

The only option I see is 'scan library:

(System is at latest available update as of Jan 12th 2026)

80.34.40 (Android)
80.34.37 (iOS)
Release date: 03/12/2025
In this update:
For Android: Albums can now be grouped by Compilations or Album Artist (or left ungrouped), and folders can be sorted by Song Name, Song Number, or File Name.

I would call Sonos Support to discuss it.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

I should have said I have cleared cache and deleted  and reinstalled the app, rebooted the phone etc. all to no avail.

New features are released in rolling updates so you may not receive the new feature until a while after the app is updated.

There is a while and a 'while', well over a month now and I have not seen this 'feature' either... and we are coming up to another release being due. Why announce something that is not activated?

It’s meant to let them pause the rollout if they spot problems with the release.

Unless, of course, this is their subtle way of introducing a subscription model for new features, just kidding!

The support staff said that the reason I and others cannot see the feature yet is that they are controlling a gradual release from the server side.

Puzzling that's it's been more than a month and it still doesn't appear.

Perhaps there is an issue that needs fixing.

Does anyone have the feature and does it work for you?

Perhaps there is an issue that needs fixing.

Given the appalling inconsistency between desktop (Windows) and mobile (Android) applications, with desktop behaving as it should, and the time it is taking to roll out, I don't think there is any 'perhaps' about it!

The desktop controllers are pretty much not being touched. Not surprisingly, given that, we aren't seeing new features.

The web app is something to consider if you want control from a desktop.

@Stanley_4 Yep I know they are not being updated. They do, however, still work. My point being that their search functionality, especially for local libraries, still works as it should. Unlike that in the Android app!
