My wife and I have 2 x Spotify Premium Duo accounts - one each on our respective iPhones.  Both accounts are connected accounts on our Sonos app, with my wife’s account as the primary (and selected) account.  However when I leave the house and play spotify in the car or through my air pods, the Sonos playlist in the house stops playing.  Is there a way to configure this to prevent that?

@Nerdboy7002

Did you ckeck that there wasn’t selected your account manually for the room at this moment?

Thanks @Schlumpf - yeah I checked on all devices with the Sonos app in the house (my phone, wife’s phone, iPad) - all were showing my wife’s account as the active Spotify, account…. Seems weird to me…

Ok, another reason could be using Spotify via voice assistant at the same time. Do you for example use Alexa with your Sonos system or with any other devices? Alexa can be connected to just ONE Spotify accout… it’s not possible to switch between different accounts. So if your wife is using Alexa to play some music via voice assistant/ Spotify that will be a double usage.

OK good point - yes we have Alexa connected to Spotify - but almost never use it.  Might turn that off and see if that works!  Many thanks for the advice! 👍

Hmmm - OK deregistered and deleted all my Sonos Devices from Alexa, but still got the same outcome….  I’ve just removed my Spotify account from Sonos and tried that.  Seems to have worked, but feels like you should be able to have two spotify accounts linked to Sonos without that happening (as long as the Primary account stays at home)….

As far as I’m aware, you still can, although I don’t exercise it myself. You may want to check the multiple accounts per service FAQ, although I’m not sure how it responds with voice commands.

Ok thanks.  I think I finally have Sonos operating in a way that is predictable so I’m not gonna touch it for now.  Really appreciate everyone’s advice.
