Hi

I would realy like a function to restart one/all speakers. I experience doing that help sometimes to avoid hang/unstability, but with 10 units it's not something i like to do manually…

A function in app to restart selected or all units would be verry helpfull.

Restarting speakers should never be necessary. Additionally, if the problem is in the underlying local network, it won’t be possible to get to the speaker over the network to do the restart anyway.

Instead, I suggest you fix your underlying local network issues that make you think you need to reboot your speakers.

I think my problems is related to unstability when playing from native Tidal app.

In general I agree with you, but first thing to do with all technical problems is kind of to try restart devices. So even though it not solves the problem it's something natural to try. All kind of support personal ask early if devices is restarted (in general, not only Sonos). So this kind of function anyway have user value in my mind.

And if look at it the other side: What is the disadvantage with that kind of function available? I don't see any. And it should take much time to implement it eather.

As you have discovered, a restart may be a temporary work around, but is rarely a permanent solution.

I suggest that you work with SONOS phone support. First submit a Diagnostic while the system is functioning, and again within 10 minutes of a fault. Details that are not visible to users leave tracks in the  Diagnostic.

Might be worth rebooting the router instead of trying to reboot all the speakers at the power. Removing their network connection with a router reboot might do precisely what you’re trying to do with a system-wide power reboot.

But do get your evident network/connection issues sorted permanently though, via Sonos support.

I hear what you say, but for most of the time my speakers works well. To give you a example why I feel that a restart function would be usefull:

For some months back playing from native Tidal app stopped. I tried to restart apps, the phone, wifi, router and spend maybe about half an hour walkin around to turn off speakers/beeams and turn it back on.

In the end I had to give up, nothing helped and it was down for the weekend. Monday morning everything was ok again without me doing anything, so problem was probably somewhere at Tidal?

Anyway: Even though nothing was wrong here a app function to restart the devices would have saved me maybe like half an hour walking around do restart the speakers. And I see not disadvantage having the solution in app - so why not when it's benificial for us users?

There used to be such a function, but it has been removed for security concerns, apparently. One of our users, who does this infrequently, but on difficult to reach power situations, uses ‘smart’ plugs, commonly available through Amazon, but available at many electronics stores.

You might wait for the issue, submit a diagnostic and then call Sonos as they can see internal issues we users can't.

Many possibile issues, not just Sonos or Tidal, better to have support look than trying multiple possible solutions.
