Since a few weeks I can't add songs to the queue anymore in the SONOS S2 app. This is the case on my phone. This was the best function of SONOS. What happened?

I suspect you just haven’t scrolled down to reveal the further options that are initially out of view. No options have been removed.

Yes. I think on the pre-S2 app there were more options visible on opening.
