Volume Presets / Widget

In terms of usability and speed I think Sonos should take some cues from hue and bring presets (including a widget to trigger them fast) for specific volume setups.

I have all my speakers always in one large group, but I depending where I am mainly atm in my appartment I prefer this area to be a specific volume level compared to the others. It’s always the same level, so a press of a button would be the most efficient way to trigger that specific ratio of volumes levels for all speakers for my situation, but I constantly have to go back, open the app, navigate to volume sliders, fiddle with 6 different sliders, and kind of dial in the ratio I like.

it’s unpractical. And it could be so much more convenient. I know there a third party apps for it. But that should be a native featute. Waiting for it for years. Pleaaaase do it. Easy feature, huge benefit.

I’m surprised you didn’t ask sooner, if you’ve been “waiting for it for years”. Your profile says you’ve only just joined the community.

Out of interest, how do you include your ZP100 in the group?

Yeah I usually don’t engage in online Communities but I am a Sonos user for 15years.. and I thought that feature would be obvious and should arrive at some point.

(i have the connect, not the zp100, changed it on my profile)

Wonder where such a feature would reside…the devices (particularly the older ones) have memory constraints, it may be hard to fit the ‘extra’ feature on them. If it were part of the controller, only one controller would have access to the settings, which might be frustrating to other users. Interesting conundrum. Probably not as easy as we’d want.

iPhone Widget with multiple buttons for presets you set before in the app. Pressing the button just sends the signal to all speakers to set the volume to set level.

shouldnt be limited by hardware i think.

Which would be fine for that one iPhone. What do I do for my iPad, or Mac controllers? Much less an Android, or Windows controller?

This is such a welcoming and open minded community to new ideas.

I think it’s a great idea. I’m not sure it’s up to the person making suggestions to determine how it’s done or be challenged on its feasibility.
