Tunein not working for weeks

Well it has happened again.  Tunein will not work with sonos.  I have been having the problem for about a week now.  This happened about a year ago also.  Anytime I try to connect to any tune in station or podcast I get commercials on a loop. Deleting account, reathorizing does nothing.

Same old sonos,  same old garbage !!

There have been a couple of posts recently about the TuneIn integration not working as expected.

The issues appear to be on Sonos’ radar and are being worked on.

Links to threads below, with bold quotes taken from Sonos mod wording in the respective thread.

“We are aware of certain radio stations failing to play via TuneIn on S1 Sonos systems and are working with our music partners to find a resolution.”

“We have identified an issue with playing Podcasts from TuneIn and are investigating - you can cease any troubleshooting attempts.”

I have called in on this, while they acknowledge this is an error, my sense is they do not really care much about getting it fixed.

Please contact Sonos about this so they know this is a feature of the system that you view is important. The length of the issue and the lack of accountability/urgency feels very May 2024

Still not working.  Sonos doesn’t seem to care.  Tunein doesn’t seem to care.  A  vivid example of the great customer service from both companies.

Sadly, you seem to be correct. Sonos simply does not care. I had hoped they got the message after the debacle of the rollout in May 2024, but they seem as tone deaf as ever.

I have contacted them a few times and their last message was basically “don’t bother us with this again”.

I feel really burned by Sonos

I have the same endless commercial loop problem.  I thought Sonos was hyper focused on the customer experience?  Why is this not being addressed?

Hello everyone - just sharing a few tips I follow whenever I have had issues with TuneIn either looping ads and or just starting and stopping.  I have noticed that typically this behavior appears when trying to select the radio stations either from my recently played and or favorites.  What I do is clear out my recently played and delete the favorite.  I then search for the radio station again either in TuneIn or Sonos Radio - I have noticed that quite a few radio stations are replicated in Sonos Radio versus TuneIn - I then try playing it directly - if it works, great, I create a new favorite.  Just curious, do you see this same behavior when playing directly from TuneIn to your Sonos speakers?  Meaning, not using the Sonos application at all?  I am aware that it should work properly in the Sonos app, however, sometimes playing directly from Soundcloud, Spotify, Mixcloud, TuneIn ….etc resolves it so that you can continue to enjoy your music.

Thanks

Derek
