I feel I’ve tried everything to add my own music to Sonos after it disappeared some time ago. I’m using a Macbook Pro running Monterey 12.7.5 and Sonos (on the Mac at 16.4.2).

It fails when asking for my id and password - I changed my id to ensure it was correct using the Terminal app.

Am I correct that the password should be the one I use to log on to the Mac with?

I’ve checked sharing options and they look OK but I can screenshot anything.

Really, really frustrating and I know this isn’t the first time this question has been asked :-(

First, set up the share:

Then add your library to Sonos:

I thought I’d tried everything but clearly not or not in the right order. - it’s now working!

Adding the library - I used ‘Another folder or drive….’ and not the NAS option. I strongly suspect I was getting the file path wrong and the resulting error suggesting ‘username or password’ was incorrect may have been misleading. Using the ‘Another folder...’ method I was allowed to ‘browse’ so it removed human error/ inability.

I can’t be sure if it helped by when using ‘Finder/ Info’ I also clicked on ‘share’ even though it was telling me it was a shared folder at the top of the screen.

Oddly, initally, an IPhone could see the library but couldn’t find the content until I played something on the Mac then it was fine 🤔.

FYI - it’s System Preferences and not System Settings on the Mac, I assume it was the latter in the past?

Thanks for the help and I’m delighted to finally have my old music back! 🤗
