Has anyone been able to get Sonos Roam to play the selected alarm music instead of the default Sonos Ding Dong alarm sound?

Yes, the alarm started playing the chosen playlist on the Roam okay here…but admittedly it was just a quick test.

I’ve just setup an alarm on my Roam here to play a playlist and have put it on its Qi charger, so I’ll let you know what happens in a few minutes.

I don’t use Spotify (sorry)? Have you tried other music services to see if you have the same issue? Perhaps see if a Sonos Radio station works for you.
